Thirty-nine years ago, music brought the two of us together. Years later, that same love of music inspired us to create a little online shop with a simple mission: rescue musical treasures, keep them out of landfills, and place them into the hands of people who would cherish them once again.

We never imagined just how many people would join us on that journey.

Because of you, more than 5,000 musical treasures found new homes in 43 states. Every book, score, CD, and piece of sheet music that was re-homed represents one more item that will continue to educate, inspire, and bring joy for years to come.

For that, we simply want to say...

As many of you know, we paused operations while relocating. Since then, life has taken us in some unexpected directions. We're now living in a much smaller space, and with new full-time jobs beginning, we've realized we no longer have the physical space, time, or energy needed to continue The Music Rescue in the way it deserves.

After much thought, we've made the difficult decision to retire The Music Rescue.

Although this chapter is coming to a close, we don't see it as a sad ending. Instead, we see it as the successful completion of a mission that accomplished far more than we ever expected.

Together, we proved that previously loved music still has tremendous value. We watched teachers build classroom libraries, churches expand their music collections, students discover affordable resources, collectors find long-sought treasures, and thousands of rescued items begin a brand-new chapter.

That is something we'll always be proud of.

Whether you purchased a single piece of sheet music, donated a collection, shared one of our posts, or simply encouraged us along the way—you became part of this story. Thank you for believing in our mission.

We don't know what the future may hold. Perhaps someday life will create another opportunity to rescue music. But for now, we're simply grateful for everything we accomplished together.
